Signs of Spring

Already we can feel things changing.

The petals (or are they the sepals?) on the witch hazel are longer and brighter than they were when they first appeared a few weeks ago. The birds are singing different songs — already establishing pecking order and territory? And plants are budding out everywhere.

Here is the witchhazel again… in all its glory!

lovely long flowers on the witch hazel

And one more sign, the real clincher:  a pair of robins are happily scouting the yard, lifting leaves for bugs and singing!

But remember, it’s still two months to the equinox…

When only a Picture will Do

try a graph!
I followed a link to someone’s blog from a friend’s blog, and that led me here.

Indexed.blogspot.com uses graphs and simple charts to illustrate telling points.

Enjoy!

Frozen in Time

As I was driving to my parents’ house yesterday I saw this, but didn’t have my camera with me. Happily, it was still there this morning!

a culvert with water falling

It was so beautiful… the way the light catches the water, the way the falls are caught in mid-splash.

Another view of the ice water

last view of the icicles

Yes, it’s bitterly cold by our standards, but it is also very lovely.
