Lord of the Rings concert

Months ago we heard that Howard Shore was going to be conducting the Seattle Symphony in a concert of the music from Lord of the Rings. Well we grabbed up 4 tickets right then and good thing too because if we had waited then there would have none to have.

We did not tell the kids until we got closer since it would have been a constant barrage of questions, when is it, how long, etc. They were sure excited once they found out, we have enjoyed the movies and the sound tracks immensely.

The hardest part was waiting though, I had 4 tickets sitting on my desk from March till July but finally the day arrived and oh what a wonderful day!

What can I say, it was just great! Howard created a new arrangement of all the music since to play it all would take about 8 or 9 hours. Along with the music there were drawings displayed of different scenes from the book, a very nice addition and helped one remember just what the music went with in the movie.
