A couple days in Seattle
I have spent the past couple days up in the big city. oohh! I was in a training class on sql server report services at netdesk. A very interesting product and considering it is a 1.0 release from microsoft it is quite good. I expect the next version will be even better since they will have had a year and half to work on it. I expect that I will be using it more in the near future to move reports out of crystal.
Did not do much while up there, should have but chickened out. I went for a walk during lunch on Monday, lots of fun stuff up there but I did not have time to go into anything. Monday evening I walked to nearby restaurant for dinner but then just went back to my hotel. After mentioning this to someone else in the class he mentioned that I should have gone over to the Seattle Center to see the fountain, it is lit up at night and is quite a pretty site I am told. Oh well, just have to go back sometime, eventually I want to go the Pink Floyd laser show at the Pacific Science Center and I could check things out then.
The hotel was ok, it was the quality inn and suites, except for one thing. The heater was loud and rattly and woke me up repeatedly. When I mentioned this in the morning they staff was quite uncaring since I had not reported it earlier. If I had they would have given me another room but I doubt that would have helped because the I could easily hear the other heaters rattling and making quite racket also. I guess they don’t mind losing a customer.
