Baking and busting bums
Sunday evening concert
I start Saturday doing a little baking, bread and cookies. Bread because I do that every week and cookies because I wanted to. Then I went down to my brother-in-laws store to help setup a camera system. Someone else did the install, I was helping to make it possible to view that video over the internet. The documentation would have made Microsoft proud, cryptic and nearly useless but I persevered and figured it out. Pretty neat to see it working.
After that Grant and I went roller skating. He had been asking for days and we finally got a chance to go. I totally forgot to bring my blades along so I just went on conventional skates. This was my first time and it went OK except for when I completely lost it and ended up on my butt. Not a recommended action for sure. Still a bit sore.
Now today I don’t get quite as much done because of the fall yesterday but I persevered. In the evening we went to a concert put on by SOGO called the SOGO HOHO. This was the brass band doing various Christmas songs. It was really good, my only compaint would be the sound person (a typical complaint of mine.) The second half had two singers come on, they stood too far back from the single microphone such that you could hardly hear the man. The next song was just the man and piano, both miked. Well the gain was turned up so high from the previous number that piano could hardly be heard because of the voice. Enough of that, the students played very well and it was quite enjoyable.
