{"id":56,"date":"2006-09-06T16:04:44","date_gmt":"2006-09-06T23:04:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thestidhams.com\/kathleen\/wp\/?p=56"},"modified":"2006-09-06T16:04:44","modified_gmt":"2006-09-06T23:04:44","slug":"back-to-school-and-back-to-normal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thestidhams.com\/kathleen\/wp\/?p=56","title":{"rendered":"Back to School (and back to normal)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"bottom\" alt=\"Boys with Lucky in the morning\" title=\"Boys with Lucky in the morning\" src=\"https:\/\/thestidhams.com\/familypics\/schoolboyswdog.jpg\" \/>The boys were ready to go, but stopped to pose for one pic&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>and then another.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"bottom\" alt=\"The boys with the gear they need\" title=\"The boys with the gear they need\" src=\"https:\/\/thestidhams.com\/familypics\/schoolboyswgear.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>6 September 2006 was a lovely sunny day, with just a touch of autumn in the air.\u00a0 My first order of business:\u00a0 breakfast!<\/p>\n<p>I sat with my tea and some spice cake and almonds while I played Babble (see sidebar for the link) for an hour.\u00a0 Finally, I was ready to start my day and spent two hours happily looking through the garden, taking out the garbage and doing laundry.\u00a0 No different from most days, but nice because it was at my own pace.<\/p>\n<p>And for a change &#8212; perhaps because I was moving at my own pace &#8212; my body cooperated.\u00a0 My knees didn&#8217;t rebel, my back didn&#8217;t give out, my eyes stayed focused and my head didn&#8217;t hurt.\u00a0 It was nice to be able to sweep the floors and clean the kitchen a little, with only dogs underfoot.<\/p>\n<p>All that said &#8212; I missed the kids and will be glad when they step off the bus in a few minutes.\u00a0 Ice cream sandwiches are waiting!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The boys were ready to go, but stopped to pose for one pic&#8230; and then another. 6 September 2006 was a lovely sunny day, with just a touch of autumn in the air.\u00a0 My first order of business:\u00a0 breakfast!
